Church Groups

At our church, we have a variety of groups that meet that you are welcome to join. From hobby groups to bible study we have something for everyone. Below you will find a short description for some of our groups. More information will be added soon about our other groups. Scroll down to see more details.

Choir

With no commitment and no auditions necessary, choir practice starts at 10am most Sunday mornings. No skills or music knowledge is needed, and we practice ready for the service starting at 10.45am the same day. The hymns we choose vary from upbeat and fun, to soft, slow and beautiful.

Great friendships have developed between choir members. Learning and singing together creates great bonds and there is a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when a more challenging hymn is mastered.

About the sessions

When you come you will be met with a warm welcome. There are different activities to choose from, you can do them in any order, and you don’t have to do them all.  There will be a theme to the activities that will relate to a story that will be shared later.  You will find other young families to talk with, share a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat, whilst your child is busy (though you are responsible for their welfare).   We are all DBS checked and one of us is a first aider.  After about an hour of creativity and action, we all gather together in the main church room for singing and celebration.  The songs are child friendly and appropriate, (it is a ‘get up and do’ session).  We also have a story, which is either a modern retelling of a bible story or based around a Christian theme that children can understand and join in with.  We finish the afternoon with a shared meal, with all the children around tables together.  This can be anything from picnic food to a hot meal (including a vegetarian option) depending on the time of year.  There’s usually something left for the grownups too!

You don’t have to stay for the whole session, we know you all lead busy lives, so feel free just to drop in too.  There is no fee, however you can make a donation to food at meal time, but there’s no obligation to.

We’d love to see you

So please come along and try us out, you’ve nothing to lose except the opportunity to meet others, time out to relax with the family, have fun and be part of our friendly Christ-centred community.

it’s a chance for families to have fun, explore faith and enjoy a meal together. Crafts, painting. Stories and music.

Date and time: First Saturday of the month.  Sessions 3-5pm

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Everyone warmly welcomed

The Music Group

The Music Group is our very own amateur drama group, but with a difference. They write their own pantomimes, so each show is unique and never seen before.  The pantomime takes place every two years around February half term. The group does not meet regularly throughout the year, but comes together about 6 months before the pantomime.  All ages are welcome.

The next panto is ‘Knights in Tights’ February 2025. If you’re not into performing they’re always looking for backstage help. Come along and see if it’s for you. Their rehearsals start in September 2024 for the next pantomime in February 2025.

To stay up to date with the latest you can follow the Music Group on Instagram here and Facebook here.
