Messy Church’s “Bible Seasides”

This month we held the last of our summer sessions with 12 children and their families attending.  We explored the mention of seasides in the Bible through a number of activities.  Our minister Brian supported children making a large shell cross which now has pride of place in church.   See if you can spot it when you’re next here?

There was great hilarity in water play with children making paper boats which to the delight of all, floated first time!  All the children were super impressed.

Sand drizzling was a real favourite too, with all the children wanting a go at creating their own seaside picture or pattern.

Children had chance to have a go at a fishing game with paper fish and magnets to win prizes.   We also made picture postcards and mosaic collage fish.

Brian also led the celebration part of the afternoon through the story of the foolish man building his house upon the sand using ‘Jenga’ blocks very effectively to demonstrate the idea. Children thoroughly enjoyed taking part, removing the blocks and seeing the outcome when it finally collapsed.  It was definitely fun for all ages as you can imagine.

Next month our theme is ‘The Creation’.  We would love to see you here and can assure you that you will be made most welcome. Messy church is for all ages, so come along and join us 3 till 5pm on Saturday 6th October. RSVP on our Facebook event here
